| | Taxi! - Encouraging local taxi drivers to review their lifestyle and make positive changes |
| Taxi! was a one-year pilot project developed by the Walsall Council Creative Development Team to encourage local taxi drivers to review their lifestyle and make positive changes. Since the culture of taxi driving involves long, unsociable hours and many taxi drivers work more than one job to support their families, the project focused on encouraging drivers to make small lifestyle changes within their working lives, such as drinking more water and swapping junk food for healthy snacks. |

| National Consumer Week 2009 launches the KNOW YOUR RIGHTS campaign on Monday 14 September 2009. With over 30 Trading Standards advice events taking place across the West Midlands, there should be no reason to be left in the dark when it comes to knowing where you stand when it comes to your consumer rights. The campaign involves a number of agencies including Consumer Direct and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), Consumer Focus and the Trading Standards Institute. The campaign will continue later into the year rather than lasting for a single week as in previous years. Click the link to download details of the events taking place throughout the week.
